The product is an elective pre-emergence herbicide. It can be absorbed through roots and sprouts, and transmitted by transpiration upwards to each part of the plants to control the biosynthesis of the chlorophyll of sensitive plants so that the weeds are killed. The differential metabolism of the soybeans makes the clomazone elective by changing it to metabolite without toxicity in the body of the plants. The product has a high solubility in water, but a medium binding property with soil, so that the flow of it in soil will be controlled, and it will not flow downward to the depth of 30cm under the surface of the soil. The product is mainly degraded by microorganism
